AHSEC stands for Assam Higher Secondary Education Council. It is the regulatory body responsible for conducting the Higher Secondary or 10+2 examinations in the state of Assam, India. The AHSEC was established in 1984 with the aim of regulating, supervising and developing the system of higher secondary education in the state. The council conducts the Higher Secondary examinations in arts, science, and commerce streams every year in the month of February-March. The AHSEC also grants recognition to schools and colleges that meet the prescribed standards and provides guidance to them for improvement.
