The government has introduced a wonderful opportunity under the PM YASASVI Central Sector Scheme to support the education of OBC students who are studying in top-performing schools. This scholarship is for the academic year 2025-26 and can be applied through the National Scholarship Portal (NSP).
Eligibility for PM YASASVI OBC Scholarship
If you’re thinking of applying, here are the conditions you need to meet:

You must belong to the OBC category.

You should be studying in a Top-Class School – these are schools with excellent performance, scoring 100% pass rates in both Class 10 and 12 board exams.

Your family’s total yearly income should be less than ₹2.5 lakh.
How Much Will You Get?
This scholarship will help cover your educational expenses like tuition, books, and other needs. The amount depends on your class:

Class 9 students: ₹75,000

Class 11 students: ₹1,25,000
The money will be sent directly to your bank account through the DBT (Direct Benefit Transfer) system.
How to Apply for OBC Scholarship
Here’s a simple guide to applying:

Register on the NSP Portal
First, download the NSP OTR app from the Google Play Store. This app helps you create a One-Time Registration (OTR) number, which is required for applying. You’ll need to complete a face-authentication process through the app. -
Aadhaar Details Required
You must have an Aadhaar card linked with your mobile number to get the OTR.-
If you’re under 18 and don’t have Aadhaar, your parent’s Aadhaar can be used.

Use an Active Bank Account
Make sure to provide a working bank account that is linked with Aadhaar. This will help avoid any delay or failure in receiving your scholarship money. Authorities will not be responsible if wrong or inactive bank details are submitted. -
