The Directorate of Land Records & Surveys, Assam has released an official employment notification for the recruitment of 579 Land Records Assistant (LRA) posts under the amalgamated establishment of the District Commissioners’ offices, excluding Sixth Schedule areas.

Candidates who have successfully completed the six-month Recorders Certificate Class Course (RCCC) Training from the Assam Survey & Settlement Training Centre and have qualified in the prescribed examination in both Survey and Settlement subjects are eligible to apply.

Salary of Land Records Assistant

Selected candidates will receive salary under PB-2, as follows:

₹14,000–₹70,000 + Grade Pay ₹6,200

In addition to the basic pay and grade pay, selected candidates will receive other admissible allowances as per Assam Government rules.

Eligibility Criteria for LRA Recruitment 2026

Candidates must meet the prescribed age, RCCC qualification and computer proficiency requirements.

Age Limit

Candidates must be between 21 and 40 years of age as on 1st January 2026.

Age relaxation for reserved categories will be available as per applicable Government of Assam rules.

The candidate’s age will be determined based on the Class X/Class XII Admit Card, Pass Certificate or Marksheet issued by a recognized Central or State Board/Council, where the date of birth is clearly mentioned.

RCCC Qualification

Candidates must have successfully completed the Recorders Certificate Class Course (RCCC) Training from the Assam Survey & Settlement Training Centre, Dakhingaon, Guwahati.

Candidates must also have qualified in the prescribed examination in both:

  • Survey
  • Settlement

The RCCC qualification must have been obtained before the commencement of the relevant government notification dated 13th August 2026, as specified in the recruitment notification.

Computer Proficiency

Candidates must have computer proficiency, including a minimum typing speed of:

  • English: 30 words per minute
  • Assamese/Bengali: 15 words per minute

NOC for Government Employees

Candidates already working in Central or State Government service must apply through the proper channel.

Such candidates will have to produce a No Objection Certificate (NOC) from their respective Head of Department (HoD) at the time of Skill Test/Document Verification.

Selection Process of LRA Recruitment 2026

The selection process for Land Records Assistant posts consists of two stages:
