RRB JE Salary 2026
Selected candidates for RRB JE and DMS posts will be placed in Pay Level 6 of the 7th CPC Pay Matrix.
The initial basic pay is ₹35,400 per month, along with other allowances as applicable under Railway rules.
RRB JE Eligibility Criteria 2026
Candidates must fulfil the required age and educational qualification for the post they are applying for.
RRB JE Age Limit 2026
The candidate’s age should be between 18 and 33 years as on 01 January 2027.
Age Relaxation
Upper-age relaxation will be available to eligible candidates as per Government of India rules.

RRB JE Educational Qualification 2026
The required qualification depends on the particular post and engineering discipline.
Junior Engineer – Electrical
Candidates should have a three-year Diploma in Mechanical, Electrical or Electronics Engineering, or an eligible combination/sub-stream of these basic engineering disciplines from a recognized university or institution.
Junior Engineer – Civil
Candidates should have:
- Three-year Diploma in Civil Engineering, or
- Three-year B.Sc. in Civil Engineering, or
- An eligible combination/sub-stream of Civil Engineering.
Junior Engineer – Track Machine
Candidates should have a three-year Diploma in any relevant discipline such as:

- Instrumentation and Control Engineering
or an eligible combination/sub-stream of the listed disciplines.
Junior Engineer – Mechanical
Candidates should have a three-year Diploma in relevant engineering disciplines such as Mechanical, Electrical, Electronics, Manufacturing, Mechatronics, Industrial, Machining, Instrumentation and Control, Automobile, Production or other specified disciplines.
Junior Engineer – Diesel Electrical
Candidates should have a three-year Diploma in Mechanical, Electrical or Electronics Engineering, or an eligible combination/sub-stream.
Junior Engineer – S&T / Telecommunication
Candidates should have a three-year Diploma in Electrical, Electronics, Information Technology, Communication Engineering, Computer Science and Engineering, Computer Science or Computer Engineering, or an eligible combination/sub-stream.
Depot Material Superintendent
Candidates should have a three-year Diploma in Engineering in any discipline from a recognized university or institution.

RRB JE Medical Fitness
Candidates appointed to RRB JE and related posts must meet the prescribed medical standards. The required standard depends on the post.

The application fee is based on the candidate’s category.

The fee can be paid online using Internet Banking, Debit Card, Credit Card or UPI.
Application Fee Refund
Candidates from SC, ST, Ex-Serviceman, PwBD, Female, Transgender, Minority and EBC categories will receive a refund of ₹250, after applicable bank charges, on appearing in the 1st Stage CBT.
For other candidates, ₹400 will be refunded after applicable bank charges on appearing in the 1st Stage CBT.

The selection process consists of the following stages:
